What is life like as a PNCC Councillor?
Key Issues I’m Engaging In.
-
Small businesses are key to providing opportunities to Palmy’s youth, and for building into the future.
-
As residents are being squeezed by cost of living increases, it’s more important than ever to make sure budgets go where needed most.
-
Palmy is my home, and it always will be. For more people to thrive in Palmy, affordable housing and robust infrastructure is crucial.
-
Palmy’s youth are its future, and our diverse cultures are core to the city engaging globally.
Just over a year ago, I had the privilege of being elected as Palmerston North’s newest City Councillor. I am honoured by the trust you put in me to represent your priorities at the Council table. It is a commitment I take extremely seriously, and my pledge is to continue working hard on behalf of all Palmy’s diverse communities.
Dealing with the impact of COVID-19
I know that COVID-19 has impacted many of our lives in significant ways. Businesses and livelihoods have suffered greatly. It is for this reason that I have been working closely with fellow Councillors to provide every available assistance to our communities and business sector. Please know that I am always available should you need support, advocacy or information during times that remain challenging.
My work on Council
My Council work includes contributing to the portfolios for Inner City/CBD, Housing, and Climate Change. I am also a member of five key Council committees: Arts, Culture & Heritage; Economic Development; Environmental Sustainability; Infrastructure; and Planning & Strategy. These are all areas where I strongly encourage residents to have a say.
